Southminster Presbyterian Presents
ANGELA HAGENBACH
in Concert

Angela Hagenbach will perform on Sunday, May 18, from 7:00 to 9:00
p.m. at Southminster Presbyterian Church in Prairie Village, Kansas.
Hagenbach is a Kansas City native who sings everything from
swinging, straight-ahead jazz and blues to sensual, rhythmic Latin Jazz
with seemingly effortless agility.
Hagenbach has been determined to make the most of her musical
talents, singing jazz in live performances and on recordings. She grew
up in a musical family; her father was a saxophonist and her mother a
pianist. She played trombone and keyboards and sang in a top 40 band.
Influenced by the style of Sarah Vaughan, Hagenbach included jazz
singing in her vocal repertoire. As a contralto her range spans nearly
three octaves and her life experience contributes to her original
compositions and lyrics.
She worked for several years as a solo performer at Kansas City's Ritz-
Carlton Hotel and has also appeared at numerous musical festivals. One
of the top Brazilian jazz singers based in Kansas City, Hagenbach' has
the ability to both swing high-quality standards and to sing with
sensitivity in Portuguese. It seems as if each major city has its great
jazz singers and Kansas City is blessed with one of the best, Angela
Hagenbach.
This program is sponsored by the Southminster Concert Series.
Admission and plentiful parking are free.
