On Sunday February 24th at 7:00 p.m. the Goldenberg Duo (violin &
piano) will perform works by Schubert, Moszkowski, Oscar Peterson,
Glazinov and others. This Chamber music recital is sponsored by the
Southminster Concert Series.
Susan and William Goldenburg are a brother-and-sister duo and have
performed for over 25 years at universities throughout the U.S.A.
Internationally they appeared at the Amalfi Coast Music Festival, Italy;
American Cathedral, Paris; and St. Peter’s Church, St. Albans, England.
They also traveled to China, Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Canada.
Susan played in the first-violin section of the National Symphony of Costa
Rica, Charlotte, North Carolina Symphony and the Kansas City
Symphony. She earned a bachelor of music degree from Indiana
University and a master of music degree with a fellowship from Yale
University.
William performed more than 1,000 concerts throughout the world as a
soloist and chamber musician. A versatile pianist, he performed chamber
music with many prominent artists, including the Vermeer Quartet,
London Symphony Concertmaster Igor Gruppman, Boston Symphony
principal flutist Doriot Dwyer, and Berlin Deutsche Opera soprano
Amanda Halgrimson. His recordings include sonatas with violinist Pierre
Menard, composer Oscar Haugland’s Door County Suite and Petite Suite
for My Grandchildren, contemporary chamber music (Webern, Berg, Ran)
with soprano and clarinet, and duos with Chinese violinist Wei Mei-Mei.
William earned a master of music degree from Juilliard and doctorate from
Indiana University.
The Goldenberg Duo performance will be at Southminster Presbyterian
Church, 6306 Roe Avenue, Prairie Village, Kansas. Admission and
